Project Overview
The Education and Conference Centre (DECC) of the Surrey School District is a remarkable facility that embodies the unique needs and spirit of the community it serves. This state-of-the-art centre is not just a hub for the administrative offices of the District and the Board meeting room, but also a versatile venue offering conference facilities for community events and gatherings.
Completed in 2010, the District Education Centre stands as a testament to modern sustainable design, proudly achieving Gold LEED certification. Meticulous planning went into every aspect of the building, ensuring a seamless transition for visitors from the exterior to the interior spaces. Upon entering, you are greeted by a spacious atrium that floods the area with natural light, creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. This atrium serves as the central circulation spine, guiding visitors effortlessly through the various rooms and offices, and enhancing the overall user experience.
