KWANTLEN POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY – TRADES & TECHNOLOGY CENTER

Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s new Cloverdale campus features a facility for trades, technology and applied training programs.  The school is comprised of large-bay flexible shop space veiled by a high-profile public ‘street,’ library, and office blocks.  The double high ‘street’ connects the various program elements and facilitates the vibrant student life that the University was seeking. The ‘street’ with its inside/outside glulam structure and colored glazing incorporates groups of seating at various levels and a direct connection to the school’s private garden.

The project received the ‘Wood Design Building Award’ for its innovative use of wood and is Certified LEED Gold.
